What is One on One?

You know, I’ve never found myself very comfortable in groups, especially large ones. I find it difficult to be my true self and have meaningful conversations in those settings. Life is too short for small talk.

But this does not mean that I don’t like being around people. Nothing could be further away from the truth. I derive a lot of meaning in my life through the people around me. I often draw a lot of my energy from them. And I love listening to stories.

You see, I think I am a different person when I get a chance to have a conversation with someone alone. Not only am I able to express myself much more freely, but I also feel much more comfortable with engaging my curiosity by asking a lot of questions, sometimes quite personal ones, with the hope that I am able to create a safe space for the other person to express themself freely as well.

This newsletter is an attempt to document some of the reflections that I have had through those conversations and some stories that you might hear from me when we get a chance to have a one-on-one someday! :)

The hole in one’s heart can only be filled by others around you.
